JORDAN L RODGERS – artysta pochodzący z Liverpoolu. Tworzy w technikach rysunkowych, audio oraz video łącząc sztukę współczesną z teorią i praktyką konstruktywizmu, surrealizmu, ekspresjonizmu oraz futuryzmu. Studiował Sztuki Piękne (nowe media, współczesna historia sztuki, kuratorstwo) na Uniwersytecie w Lancaster, gdzie uzyskał dyplom z najwyższym wyróżnieniem. Jego prace wystawiane były na wielu wystawach zbiorowych i indywidualnych oraz publikowane na portalach związanych ze sztuką m. in. Aesthetica Art Prize 2012, 100 Contemporary Artists 2013 Anthology, Jerwood Drawing Prize 2013 oraz były prezentowane na Innsbruck Nature Film Festival 2015 i International Green Culture Festival. W 2014 r. dołączył do Hope Street Ltd w ramach renomowanego Programu Wschodzących Artystów. Dotychczas Artysta współpracował także przy realizacji pięciu produkcji teatralnych „Sense and Sustainability”, „Spring Heeled Jack”, „Race Against Time”, „This Must Be The Place” oraz „Control 25”. Jego pasją jest praca z różnymi aspektami teatru, a celem innowacyjność w sprostaniu relacjom między odbiorcą i doświadczeniem.
“Na wczesnym etapie mojej kariery ten projekt jest okazją do artystycznych poszukiwań oraz przekraczania granic. Posługując się różnymi technikami staram się wypełnić lukę między tradycyjnym rysunkiem i rysunkiem tworzonym za pomocą nowoczesnych technologii. Obecnie podróżując po Europie Wschodniej dokumentuję powojenną architekturę modernistyczną. Podczas tej wędrówki aparat staje się pośrednikiem pomiędzy podróżnikiem (artystą), a postkomunistycznym pejzażem przedstawionym na rysunkach powstałych pod wpływem obserwacji życia codziennego w
tej przestrzeni. Moja działalność artystyczna wynika z doświadczeń, w których przenikają się przeszłość i teraźniejszość, tworząc narrację odkrywania określonego czasu podczas spaceru po

Na wystawie “Ipad Drawing: Architektura Bloku Wschodniego” zostaną zaprezentowane animacje i rysunki Artysty inspirowane powojenną architekturą Nowej Huty, Kędzierzyna Kozile, Opola, Bratysławy oraz Berlina Wschodniego.

Jordan L Rodgers ‘iPad Drawing: Eastern Bloc Architecture’

Jordan L Rodgers is a multimedia artist who hails from Liverpool in the UK. He works in drawing, audio, video and film making, with parallels between contemporary work and the theories and practices of Constructivism, Surrealism, Expressionism and Futurism.
His degree was in Fine Art (Digital New Media, Contemporary Art History, Curatorship) at Lancaster University, First-Class Honours. Since graduating in July 2012 his work has been exhibited in selected group and solo shows and published in national and international art magazines and websites, including the Aesthetica Art Prize 2012, and the 100 Contemporary Artists 2013 Anthology, Jerwood Drawing Prize 2013 and screening at the Innsbruck Nature Film Festival 2015 and International Green Culture Festival. In 2014 Jordan joined Hope Street Ltd as part of the internationally renowned Emerging Artists Programme 2014 taking on the role of Digital Artist/ Animator. To date he has participated in five theatrical productions – Sense and Sustainability, Spring Heeled Jack, Race Against Time, This Must Be The Place and Control 25. Passionate about working within various aspects of theatre, Jordan seeks to offer a unique innovation to challenge the relationship between audience and experience.
At the early stage of my career it is an opportunity to do something different, to push boundaries. I use a cross-disciplinary way of working to bridge the gap between traditional drawing and drawing on an iPad.
I am now pursuing a long-term journey documenting Postwar modernist architecture in Eastern European sites where the camera serves as a traveller (the artist) through passage of a post-communist landscape visible through iPad drawings rendered with observations of everyday life. My professional art practice is influenced by experiences where the past and the present overlap. Possessing such personal style these pieces become a narrative that seems to serve as a sense of discovery set out time and again toward a curious flaneur strolling through a unfamiliar city.
